Whoops, IT! I was unclear. To clarify, I was rmaking a different point...
... that having to do with broken promises by M$, and to
whom. I was referring to both broken promises to
gub'mint (non-compliance with rulings) following the
various antitrust actions, versus the countless broken
promises made to users as regards usability, stability,
security... not to mention the "S" word:
S-I-M-P-L-I-C-I-T-Y!

So I said:
"Unlike M$, the Linux phenomenon is catching on by
dint of real merit, not by hype and sleazoid, dishonest
marketing that relies on misdirection, vaporware and a
history of broken promises. Never mind the US
Gub'mint, think of the users!"

Looking at it again, the lack of clarity is apparent,
undoubtedly mine, sorry!

Yes, I agree with you re the US gub'mint, as it may
even be among the early adopters. NSA-hardened
Linux goes back - what? - three, four years? Clusters at
Los Alamos, JPL, NASA, government-funded research
at the academic level, etc.
