Vendor Lock Out...
Given the zero day exploits and the recommendation by MS to squelch Java and ActiveX functionality as a work-around, these vendors and sellers are rejecting anyone with enough sense to avoid malware. It kinda like they're saying that they don't want just my business, but everyone can bug off. That's a pretty stupid position to take just to keep from writing well coded web sites that are compatible with FF or Opera. Oh well, it's their loss as I won't be spending my $$$ with them.
