Wake-on-LAN
has been tried here and has proven patently unreliable. And so long as we can tell people not to access ANY server for ANY reason from ANY location outside of business hours (and tell any hackers not to attack then, as well), we can do away with the monitoring. I'm quite glad you don't work here.
