- Telling a woman that her presence makes the time at work more pleasant (so long as you're not drooling on her desk when you say it) is a nice, non-threatening compliment. The standard I use is to ask myself, "how would I feel if one of my wife's coworkers said this to her?" In the case of your paragraph above, I would have no problem with it at all.
