A Failure to Communicate
Both sides have clearly made mistakes, but I think the develoeprs need to get a reality check -- they owe it to the community to not take hasty rash actions that affect the entire community without consulting the community. In this case they have completely failed to communciate with the community - they have acted on their own, without consultation. They have abandonded their duty to work at all times in the communities best interest.
