Open-source Mambo project faces rift

I'm not happy with either side...

I love mambo, however I was really never happy with how close Miro kept Mambo to itself, hovering over Mambo like a nervous mother (but I kind of understood why, it's their baby).
I was never really happy with the core development team, because they're like an exclusive club. "Don't call us, we won't call you" kind of attitude to anyone who tried to enter "the inner circle", though separately they seem like nice people (though I kind of understood why, they work well together).
YET, it's pretty darn hard to complain when together they put out such a great piece of software.
Now, I'm not too sure what will happen. I'm just going to have to sit back until the dust clears, and see who makes the better product.
