MikeRoweSoft
As written in a previous post - It IS his name.
Struan Robertson, editor of Out-Law.com notes:
"Rowe may have a good argument for keeping the domain name, because it is his real name, and he isn't pretending to be affiliated with Microsoft."
Note: His site was for web design.
--------------
Microsoft acknowledged that it may have taken things too far... A representative of the software company told ZDNet UK: "We appreciate that Mike Rowe is a young entrepreneur who came up with a creative domain name. We take our trademark seriously, but maybe a little too seriously in this case."
--------------
I was not going to go to MikeRoweSoft.com and think that I am going to order Windows from it.
There are companies with the name McDonald's in it (McDonald's Plumbing, McDonald's A+ Heating, etc.) The similarity is that they are all owned by someone named McDonald.
I doubt the people Mr. Torvalds is going after are named Joe Linux.
