For corporate applications, you need to be connected anyway.
True, you will want to have a local word processor and email client and files cached locally. But, remember, in 10 years, you will have wireless access almost anywhere except in podunk Iowa.

Also think Java for games that can be cashed locally. Of course serious gamers will want to buy a game box.
