I disagree
This is just conjecture but if we are going to go down this road so be it. From what I can tell the guys working at Suse are getting paid, so are the guys at Redhat. The difference is the money is coming from support services and not completely from selling code. Yes there are guys out there doing coding for free but it almost always will get "adjusted" when a big firm starts to use it. I guarantee you the guys doing the "adjusting" at HP are getting paid. I also guarantee you most of the guys doing the free coding will wind up making money by putting there experience on a job resume. In the end money is made from the free software. Jobs are created when support of the software, sales (of support), advertising, and whatever else you think of is needed. Sorry but I don't buy your statement for a second.
