I personally worked with a company that purchased Linux services from HP. It's not in the form of consulting, but blades + Red Hat support contracts. Apparently you can get RH support from HP, and it costs less than if you were to get it from RH. But you had to buy HP hardware.

The Linux servers replaced HP-UX servers, so I guess it's a draw for HP. But if a company were to dump HP-UX anyway, I think HP would rather sell them Linux instead of having IBM or RH make the sale.

Incidentally, the new RH servers run a lot faster than HP-UX, especially for Java applications. And this is with the now two-year-old RH "enterprise" 2.x. But I'm guessing most of the difference is in the new Intel-based blade hardware and a newer JVM.
