MS got there power on the back of IBM in the eighties. Once IBM decided to build a PC using DOS, corporate America insisted that only the "IBM standard" could be used. I was one of the victims. In those days IBM was considered the best in computing. After a few years, even IBM could no longer control MS. The momentum was too powerful, and their software was everywhere. Once a "standard" is set, it becomes very difficult to dislodge. But hopefully, more than fifteen years later, the world will no longer be held hostage to their bad habits. OSX will grow, but Linux will win the day.
