I've heard it will try and restrict web services

The GPL fanboys are mad because companies like Google use GPL'd software to provide web services, yet they don't have to hare their backend source code with their users/visitors. I've read rumors that the FSF wants to force people who provide web services using GPL'd software to share their source code with the vistors of their site.

It's a good thing mysql, php, apache, perl, python, and postgreql are all available under non-GPL licenses.
