Never notice the memory leaks
We have Oracle servers on Windows and Solaris. On solaris never had a crash beyond a hard drive going. On Windows the same thing on most of the servers, some exceptions though.

Oracle just works and works well. While it is more complex that complexity allows better configuration. If you don't need that the MS SQL will suit you fine and it is a little less expensive, only a little though. In the end if they get the job done in timely fashion use what you will.
