Another point - situation
Back in 2002 the company I worked for cut corners; people and programmers. The client cut the budget. The company outsourced to India. The company is now down to 8 people - the rest of us were laid off. The client went somewhere else, also using very cheap programming help.

Because of the long hours, lack of help, and never ending stress (boy is wonderful to only get screamed at for weeks at end because there is simply no way to catch up), I developed fibromyalgia. I can no longer work full time - of course that's a moot point since I'm out of work and my unemployment has run out.

Anyway, on Monday I got a call about a resume I sent out. I'm a Web designer, have been since 1997. My hourly request on the resume (remember this is for Part Time work) was $20. That means no benefits. The potential company thinks that's too high. They don't want to even pay that much an hour for 20 hours of work.

I suggested they contact their local high school for help.

End result, I'm still trying to survive on my own and explain to potential clients why I can't offer them complete Web sites for $395!

I too am voting my feelings in November - and believe me it is NOT for the current administration. They've done enough harm that it's going to take many, many years to recover.
