Thank you for the congrats! Much appreciated, even though you and I don't always agree on a lot of things, I appreciate the sincerity. Although I will be moving many over to the Linux solutions there will be others that will not move, and I will support those as well. The main thing is I am in a very good position (after much hard work and sacrifice) for nothing more than moving ahead.

Soon I will be able to break out of corporate Amerika (I am a little bitter... can you tell?) and into a job that I really enjoy working with people I can relate too (well on levels other than the tech level... ) But the best part is I am able to do this totally debt free and with no investment from my pocket. This is a rare opportunity to say the least. One that quite literally fell into my lap out of nowhere.

But the fact remains, there is a place for Linux and there are people that can put it there, and it's up to us to get the word out there. The key is being flexible. I have clients that want Linux only in a server capacity. I have clients that want it as a desktop and I have clients that want it as both. And I have some clients that want FreeBSD for the server and Linux for the desktop. And others that want FreeBSD or OpenBSD with Macintosh. Bottom line is people are finally seeing alternatives out there because of people like myself. If only we had the marketing power of Microsoft or IBM or Hewlett Packard to assist us...

But the fact is, look at how far Linux has made it without all the advertising dollars of the big boys. And I would have to say that is pretty damn impressive for an OS that is still considered by some to be a tinker toy. Pretty powerful tinker toy if you ask me! Bottom line is the penguin in moving forward one system at a time, one shop at a time.
