hardware requirements
We don't care what OS you put on your box, but we want to
make sure that a Mac OS can only run on boxes that have the
correct configuration and support Apple. Anybody can check the
specs and build a clone of a Mac Intel box but that cuts profit
from Apple that is doing the R&D to get such a good OS. As for
any old hardware running Mac OS, look at the problems MS has
with hardware conflicts and legacy crap.

Now if Apple put a chip in that made it so ONLY Mac OS could
run then I'd be seconding your comment of "what business is it
of yours to tell me what OS I should have on my hardware?"

Microsoft hasn't gone that far, yet. I wouldn't put it past them to
try and claim it's for the protection of others rights with all the
digital info you put on computers these days.
Only a trusted (read: non pirated) version of Vista can run, with
no others available on same box, even with different partitions
or drives. That would keep those 'nefarious' open source types
from stripping DRM from movies, music, etc.

I too am worried about all the extra 'Big Brother' chips that are
going into new hardware. The other option is to go back to older
systems that didn't have this junk in it.
