Your joking, right?
"Mandrivel......"

Your title of choice is itself an indicator that you have little of importance to say. Try starting off on an intelligent note rather than scorn.

"...is more bloatware now than Windows XP ever was."

The term 'bloatware' is just so meaningful these days ... if you don't like something, you call it bloatware. Nice put down.

"so that's about 2% of the user base then..."

Obviously a part of the user base you don't care about. But your clear implication is that these are the only users interested in Linux. Another put down ... you are batting 100.

"If only some people could escape the slashdot bubble and see real life for a bit...."

Why? So they could move over to your bubble instead?

For your information, I am not a 'techie' in that I don't contribute code to Linux or anything like that (although I used to do that kind of thing back in the 80's and early 90's). I use Linux for home and business like one would use Windows and it works just fine for me. I gladly pay money for using Linux and thus contribute to the Linux ecosystem in that way. But I see the genius of a system that harnesses the manpower of willing volunteers on one end and produces a useful product on the other. But every new way of doing things that has come along over the years has had its critics. Linux is no different.
