Good move on the part of Novell ...
This is great news! There are plenty of people around the world who will gladly exchange development time for a free OS plus a host of free applications. This is the concept that Microsoft does not seem to understand. People who contribute are not just giving away their labor. They are getting something in exchange. A free OS that they can tinker with to their hearts content. This is an option that Microsoft simply doesn't offer. And it is an option that techies around the world are responding to in droves. Not mentioned by the article is the fact that Mandrake uses a similar approach. The download version is available to all, but the spiced up Club version is only available to dues paying members. Its a great concept, and it is working.
