Novell plans European layoffs

A larger danger...: ... doesn't prevent the existence of a smaller danger. If Linux didn't exist I don't know how much better the trends would be. But this is not the time to volunteer to do more harm.

If you compare Microsoft and IBM, you can see that Bill Gates is much more eager to sign paychecks.
Some outsourcing has to occur; foreign governments looking out for their citizens. That's damaging, but understandable.
I'll give Gates credit, though, for meeting problems by hiring people to solve them. Unlike a lot of others.
