- RE: He didn't say Linux was the only source of layoffs.
-
"So the moral of the story is that if you use linux expect layoffs and a decline in revenue. Doesn't take a genuis to figure that out. Novell was the only one I thought would give hope to linux, too bad. And so the predicted death of linux begins...."
Looks like it to me.
"You have to be patient. Rome wasn't ruined in a day."
So you agree, corporate greed is killing this country. That would be Microsoft, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Ford, General Motors, International Business Machines... shall I go on? And Linux will not replace Unix anytime soon. And even if it does, the same Unix folks will still have thier jobs. Nice try again!.
"And while we wait for the devastation to be great enough to make us proud, we can always console ourselves with the thought that any people hired or allowed to continue working after Linux replaces Unix might be making lower salaries."
And since a large portion of our tech jobs are now overseas with more heading that way soon... guess what high paying jobs are left!
1. Lawyer (good for target practice in my book)
2. Doctor
3. Burger Flipper!
Anton you sit there and try like hell to convince us that Linux will kill Unix and displace jobs. And yet the very jobs you talk about are being given to people overseas that will work for pennies a day. Essentially you are in support of capitalistic slave labor.
Every day Americans are layed off from all sorts of jobs, and replaced by cheap labor pools outside the US all for the profit of the stock holders and the CEO. Ford, GM, HP, MS all of them and more, now export a large portion of thier jobs to India and China. Now the Europeans are feeling the pinch of American Corporate greed since they cost to much as well. So they get the layoffs as well and guess where the jobs are going.
Stop with the red herring of Linux taking Unix jobs. It's BS and you know it. - Posted by: Linux User 147560 Posted on: 08/02/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
