Who will suffer?
Are you saying all the companies that license UNIX will all of a sudden stop? You do understand your talking about every major hardware and software vendor on the planet don't you? (Intel, AMD, IBM, Sun, MS, just to name a few.)

No, at most SCO will end up paying legal fees if they lose and the judge orders it. Beyond that, it's business as usual and the annual license fees will keep coming in.
