Novel has no case?
First, Mike let me start by giving you a kudos for bowing down to Microsoft. I myself have a degree in Net Admin and work in a datacenter. I work with a diverse environment of platfoms and maintenance nightmares. I have watched, read and heard about this Novell, IBM, Autozone dipute since day 1. I have studied the origins of Linux, (Unix), and here is my personal judgement. Sco group should, like any other end user fall under the conditions of the GPL and FSF. Unix was released into the public mainstream by the govornment after it was deemed "safe" to do so. Nobody truly owns Unix, Linux, or any variation thereof. Yes you can modify it, change it and distribute it freely, or you may charge a fee for it, but you must also give others the right to do so. How can Sco or Novell for that matter say they own some thing that was free to begin with? BTW the reason Microsoft suffers from so much maliciious distrobution of their software is because it is not affordable! I have no problem paying money for software, but how much is enough? Bill started his company with nothing, even though his parents were millionares already. Good for Bill that he has made himself the richest man on the earth. Problem is he is one of only two games in town, and he is trying to kill or buy out the other one. I look at it like the automotive industry, we have a wide variety of cars to choose from, why do we have only two choices for computer OS software? Ask Bill I bet he knows. I truly hope the FTC does something about this. If not our economy and the world are screwed.
