MCSE:Mentally Challanged Slave of the Empire
Your comments prove that subject line so well. A part of me hopes that the whole "Start button" remark is sarcasm, but sadly, I doubt it. So, you feel that a highly functional "Start button" is all that matters in an OS? Well, if that was the case, then maybe M$ has something there, but, personally, I look at the overall performance in an OS, and when it come to that, nothing is better than the *nixes, whether UNIX, *BSD, or Linux (my favorite for the desktop). Oh, and besides being high performance OSes, *BSD and Linux have the added (GREAT) benefit of not having to sign yourself away to a multi-billion dollar company who's business tactics are all too questionable, or an OS with more back doors than an illegal brothel. One of my favorite things (note sarcasm) about WinXP: the fact that the Search Assistant will try to send information to M$, w/o your consent (confirmed). Pretty much, if your comfortible with an OS that spies on you, lets viruses & hackers run rampant on your system (due the great insecurity that Windoze presents), and don't mind signing everything but your soul to M$ (though, in the future that will probably be in the M$ EULA) and being a mindless drone to the Empire, than Windows is the OS for you, but stop making it sound like Windows is the greatest gift to mankind. As for Novell, we'll let the judge decide the truth, not your "rep." Hopefully, Novell is right, and if they are, then this whole deal from SCO will die (Novell defintely isn't going to do anything bad to Linux, if anything, they've helped it). Have fun with your "Start" button and all it's cute little menus, meanwhile, I'm going to go play with a real OS. Lone Wolf out (Running on Fedora Core 4 x86_64). Peace!
