Woopie...
Two things.

1) Maybe I should take a closer look at what SFU
offers, but doesn't Cygwin (open source) do the
same thing? Both are free (for now), but only
one will ALWAYS be free. If I were migrating
UNIX software to Windows (I would need to get my
head checked -- what an idiotic move), I would
use open sourced Cygwin for sure.

2) I'm sure that MS will pick up some people who
want to migrate to Windows, but overall, I think
MS is misreading the Unix world. People aren't
sticking with Unix because their apps require
them to. They sick with Unix because it is a
vastly superior operating system for enterprise
tasks. "Want to 'migrate' from your BMW to this
Pinto? We have a kit that makes the switch
easy!" ... Ummmm, tempting, but no. Legacy
Unix software will migrate to a Unix that runs
on Intel hardware -- Linux or *BSD.

In not so many words, I think we're seeing MS
squirm and thrash while minions are migrating
from UNIX to Linux AND for Windows to Linux.
Sucks to be an MS shareholder nowadays.
