Value of 'free' advertisement
I highly question the value you have attributed to the free advertisement gained through this.

People were aware of Lindows already. This just let them know that the quick fix offered through Lindows is 'pie in the sky'. By the way, free advertisement or bartered advertising time sometimes is worth less than the paid for marketing campaigns. Contrary to beleif, people will value something more when there is a real cost associated with it.
