Hope IBM can save endangered Java
Due to crappy implementations of Java, especially GUI which is essential for developing desktop s/w, Java is now virtually on niche market. Hardly used in s/w development, other than web-site development.

Only way to save this endangered Java is to encorporate Eclipse SWT and Java Runtime together and make easy to install by casual users. In this regard, IBM's initiative might be a good move. IBM saved Java once before and need to save one more time.
