That would require IBM to recommend Apple hardware
Because OS X only runs on Apple hardware. The fact that it's easy to install, highly intuitive, and a delight to work with is simply not enough to convince IBM to endorse its old rival's hardware.

OS X already has the ease of use the Linux distros are trying to invent for Linux. The one drawback is obvious: you can only run OS X on Apple hardware, and that's the way Steve Jobs intends to keep it. It's built on Free BSD, which is similar enough to Linux to have most of the advantages of Linux, such as stability. But unlike the case with Linux, there's nobody in the Mac community who equates user-friendliness and ease of use with stupidity, so OS X is remarkably easy to use and extremely user-friendly and intuitive.

Were Big Blue ever to be burdened with an excess of honesty and integrity--and how likely is that?--there's only one OS it could possibly recommend, and it isn't Windows or Linux.
