I don't like the self-centered paranoid drivel
What I don't like is the simple-minded analysis where someone sees something happen between two companies (okay, one very powerful and one very small), and looks at it as though the whole world revolves around Linux, and that therefore it's all about Linux, and asks the question "who does this benefit? Is this good for Linux or bad for Linux?" and bases their analysis totally on that. I think you're right about the possibility that MS was trying to head off *yet another* legal attack. I mean, notice how MS has also settled for millions or billions of dollars with other companies that sued. Anyone think they're trying to help out their competitors too?? But that's a contradiction because MS is supposed to be the big bad monopoly out to crush their competitors. The truth is all we have to go on is what SCO and MS said at the time about the licensing. I haven't heard any inside scoop on "what was *really* going on."
