OS Companies
Sun a UNIX company, MS is not. The fee paid to SCO is the
largest UNIX license ever paid to the company, and by a
company that doesn't have a UNIX product! A little unusual?

Not to detract from what you are saying ... but all three are OS companies. Without having looked any deeper than that, it is possible for Microsoft to have misappropriated some of SCO?s intellectual property with the payment being a "please don?t sue" me sum.

Of course I stretch the truth when I say that they are OS companies. One is a hardware company that is schizophrenic at best about software. One is a marketing company that has a monopoly on the desktop OS. And one is a litigation company that bought some [disputed] rights to an OS.

But your point is well made. Sun and Microsoft should both be vilified in this, but with Microsoft that?s nothing unusual.
