Why SCO ? Why?
``"Despite the vast disparity between SCO's public accusations and its actual evidence--or complete lack thereof--and the resulting temptation to grant IBM's motion, the court has determined that it would be premature to grant summary judgment," Kimball wrote. "Viewed against the backdrop of SCO's plethora of public statements concerning IBM's and others' infringement of SCO's purported copyrights to the Unix software, it is astonishing that SCO has not offered any competent evidence to create a disputed fact regarding whether IBM has infringed SCO's alleged copyrights through IBM's Linux activities."''

Yes, this is the little secret of SCO. They thought that IBM `must had used its UNIX's src and ported it in Linux'

I am trying to think WHAT SCO WAS THINKING?

WHAT SVr5 src could make it into Linux?

- The kernel tree was written from scratch by Linus + contributors and it is NOT maintained by IBM but by Linus+Co; there should not be any SVr4 code there. Ideas SURE! Src NOPE.

- the Utilities in Linux are mostly GNU or BSD derived + tons of OSS freeware; ALL have been wrtten from scratch; who would copy SVr4 code for the utilities. Just unlikely.

- Extensions? What File Systems? but extv2, v3, reiser, etc. are not related to at the src at least to UNIX src. JFS has been OpenSourced; JFS2 is IBM's proprietary.

- TCP/IP stack: BSD license....

- WHAT could SCO could see copied from UNIX?

OR WHAT could SCO be thinking ? Hallucinating...maybe ...
