I'll just say MySQL is going where others can't be piad.
That is a pretty solid reason why we are getting MySQL into our company, no "time-bombed" software from Microsoft or Oracle. IBM isn't even on the radar except we still sell a lot of Informix, you know that old useless system that Wal-Mart houses a 423 terabyte data warehouse on that is continually growing. They are another not mentioned, IBM reps at Ziff-Davis screening the articles wouldn't like it. SQL Server 2005 is about three years to late and hopelessly lost on features already included in Oracle. The last database class at school with already employed database people really rallied off a litany of things they could do with Oracle and not with the 'new' SQL Server -LOL! Me personally having MySQL available for free and coupled with other free technologies makes it way easier to get the ball rolling with people.
