I am not anti Open Source
How on earth do you get that impression?

I certainly think SQL is a very poor implementation of the relational model but following from this logic, yes IBM, Oracle and Microsoft are all there in the same boat with PostgresSQL and MySQL. Perhaps you could explain what is anti open source about this position?

If you want to put forward a defence of SQL then we have something to talk about. I think you will find my arguments against it are well reasoned and not based on some kind of "religious prejudice". However it would be much simpler to point you in the direction of the material I have based my ideas on, after long thought and study, not after having blindly accepted whatever the industry happens to be serving up as the latest fad.

My position on open source is so far it has provided cheaper alternatives to existing products. I am not convinced that it is particularly innovative. This doesn't put me off using it. If this position is critical it seems pretty mild criticism to me and not based on religious bigotry, just on my view of the facts as they stand.
