We live in a global economy with
corporate greed determining who loses their
home, falls into bankruptcy, or even becomes
homeless. The idea of the best employee, the
most dedicated worker who is valued by the
corporation disappeared years ago.
corporations would rather hire adequate
workers for a lower rate of pay than hire to
replace their best most loyal employees. One
year a guy is employee of the year and given a
huge bonus. The next year he is replaced by 3
overseas employees who make $2.50 an
hour and receive no benefits. Corporations
tend to be followers as well. If one company
does one thing its competitor will follow even if
its's not an intelligent decision. Right now
outsourcing is popular, but have you seen
lower software prices as a result? No, you see
harsher licensing restrictions and strongarm
tactics by companies over their customers. Of
course the Corporation always has a smiling
face to the public.

Of course the alternative to corporate greed is
communism or at least socialism, both which
promote mediocrity to a greater degree than
corporate greed. Also the leaders of the
workers revolution are just more greedy
people who want what the greedy
corporations already have.

The bottom line is to support and encourage
small business. In other words, go to Jacks
Steak House instead of MacDonalds. Build a
mixed computer network instead of tha
already proved dangerous and insecure all
Microsoft network. Also remember, if you are a
fast track corporate employee and you get
moved up the ladder very quickly with lots of
money and benefits, at some point you will
become a liability in the company's eyes
because you make too much money and are
ready for replacement by less competent
workers who are younger and make less
money.
