why a defence fund when not needed?
Whoever is sued must still mount a defense, or lose by default. My company fired a manager for coming to work so drunk he could hardly talk. Dozens of people witnessed this.

In spite of which, he sued the company for "wrongful termination." The company won the lawsuit, but it cost them $40,000 in legal expenses.

If you go into court and say, "This suit is so obviously stupid and meritless that I am not even going to bother defending myself," you will lose.
