Orwelling, sad, and easily defeated...
I read this and can't help but feel disapointed with Adobe et. al. about this? Are we all just conterfitting scum, who can't be trused to use an image of U.S. currency in our copies of Photoshop. What's next, no images of the current president, lest we Photoshop something that he might not find amusing? Doubleplusgood, NOT!

Now I'm glad it's totally half-assed "protection" mechanism, that can be worked around with a little thought in a few seconds. What? Don't have that kind of time you say. Well - I do. ;p - so here's how. (tested on XP / OS-X 10.3)

Assuming your scanner will still scan money, scan/acquire a nice TIFF of some, preview it in some less Orwellian app. that still gives a damn about your individual rights, then copy it to the clipboard.

Open a new PS. doc to size and make two layers.
Paste the image of the U.S. currency on the SECOND layer. Layer one can be totally empty.
Save your masterwork.

Open. Rinse. Repeat.

Yep that's it. You scan scribble censorship sucks on the first layer if you want, just remember to set it as an invisibile layer when you're running off your poster size copies of currency for it's artisic value, or to entice people into purchasing your fairly priced goods and services.

I in no mean wish to condone conterfitting, but this kind of draconian goverment madness needs to end.
