Study in Dec '03 reported only 6.6% market uptake for WinXP. M$ is scared!
Lots of people holding back. What, 25% of Win
installed base?

80% of those businesses polled had 40% of
their desktops using W95 and W98, obviously
on machines that would quite comfortably
handle Linux in most cases.

They are tired of "Das Upgrade Machinen," ya!
They had no choice on pre-loads for most of
the last decade.

But they do now. Transition for W98 users to
Linux (as of 2004) would be near as easy as
to anything M$ offers today.

M$ is scared.

Competition is good! Right, Micro$hills? I
mean, that's what you bleat all the time, while
working hard to kill alternatives, even lobbying
gub'mints and Global organizations to ignore
the OSS question.
