There is another 'good' reason MS
may be hiring candidates from their COMPETITORs' pool. They have been hiring many good candidates in their Research division: this makes people with good skills UNAVAILABLE to do R/D for the competing platforms UNIX, Linux, DB, etc.

They may be just hiring Linux professionals so thin out th applicant pool. And they get MUCH MORE QUALIFIED IT professionals than all the MickeyMouse/Pluto/Goofy MS 'engineers'
