Why did he wait so long to sue?
I think if the suit had been in the mid-90s, after failure of every pen-based system from Go to PenWindows to Newton, the suit would have been laughed out of court. Kind of like an inventor claiming that his idea for fur-handled squeegees was stolen--what's the point? Now, 15 years later, we look at Go's system and think "yes, this was the beginning of PDA's, Pocket PCs, and the Tablet PC", even though Go didn't have a chance at ever succeeding because of limitations in hardware and a small market.

Then, there's this quote from BusinessWeek in 2002:
"Not everybody is so upbeat about the Tablet PC's prospects. Jerry Kaplan, a founder of pen pioneer GO Corp., dismisses Gates's new baby as science in search of customers. 'There's no evident demand. This is technology push, not market pull,' he says.
So how can he insist that his own product would have survived with only a fraction of the hardware and features?
