They don't want MS telling them how the OS will work and when they will
get upgrades. They want to be in control of the process and be able to select other vendors if they don't get good service or prices. Notice that the deal with MontaVista is NOT exclusive. If they don't get good prices and good services, they CAN change. Motorola will keep it that way. They will not let the greasy fingered duo of Billy and Stevie lead them around by the ding-a-ling.
