Google is light years ahead of MS
..and it will stay that way. Google has incredible momentum in this space. I read the Google story and have heard their top execs and technologiest several time. They have their act together and huge momentum.

There is little chance that governments nor people not now tied to Microsoft will allow MS to assert their API's for search. API's are the seed that MS wants to plant to grow what is now open into something proprietary. The desktop OS is enough.
