Man, the Mexicans don't need this. For 50 pesos (5 bucks) you can buy any
software title you want at the market. You can walk into any corner computer shop and buy a white box computer loaded with XP, MS Office Pro, Photo Shop, whatever you want, no software licensing costs. Only the rich buy computers at a department store where you have to pay software licenses, and these buyers won't want the dumbed down version.

Microsoft should just stick with what works to keep the masses using Windows: let piracy happen. That way, the businesses that can afford it will pay, and the rest will pirate, but help Microsoft maintain the monopoly with the network effect. The BSA is alive and well in Mexico visiting companies that can afford software licenses. Those that can't afford the licensing, well, they don't visit them. Wouldn't want to encourage Linux use, would we?
