The typical American vacation time is 2 weeks a year. Yet, many people don't use all their vacation time and give it up. Lazy people don't give up their vacation time.

Then, there are people in certain industries that constantly bust their butt. Software engineers are known for working 60-80 hours a week. Certain industries push for even more hours than that (think: the video gaming industry). Lazy people don't work 40 hours a week, let alone more than 40 hours.

And, of course, these software engineers are highly-trained, highly-educated workers who could have gotten more money getting degrees in business, law, or medicine. Lazy people don't go into difficult careers for less money.

Before I believe that "Americans are lazy", I'd like to see some evidence.
