Loads of assumptions.
Look how many things you're accepting as true in this statement:

There's no change here; women aren't interested in math, science, engineering and therefore are under-represented ( as compared to their % of society ) in technological careers.

First, many things can change without being visible from your viewpoint.

Second, women who are interested in those subjects may choose a career following those interests that doesn't bring them into one of the careers you're calling technological.

Third, women who are interested in those subjects may have other subjects that interest them even more, or may see better job prospects and so follow them instead.

Fourth, what creates an expectation that women should be in these selected technological careers in proportion to their percentage of the population? It's not a law or a moral precept.
Whatever gets people into careers, and that's not a well-studied topic, there's no definitive proof that if everything worked perfectly the same number of women as men would want what you're calling technological careers.

Be carful what you're willing to accept as assumptions. They can turn into legal mandates for no better reason than that a lot of people tolerate them.
