"Fear of lawsuit motivates many employers to promote, etc those that really should be shown the door for incompetence. "
Well lets face it, fear of lawsuits is what motivates our entire country right now. Everything under the sun has a disclaimer on it, everyone everywhere thinks they deserve a settlement because something unfair happened to them. People have taken "pain and suffering to new levels" now it means you were inconvenienced slightly. The lawyers don't care what happens, because just as a bad stock broker, they will just buy sell buy sell, and take their commission. The consequences of sale no longer matter. The people being hurt no longer matter. The monetary gains are almighty above the conscience. It is a fundamental lack of ethics running right through america. Ethics and honor, respect, are lacking. It's just step on the next person's head to get that dollar. What does a handshake mean to anyone these days? What does "I give you my word" mean to anyone? Years ago it meant I would rather die than dishonor myself by breaking my deal with someone. Now it means "You have my word.....unless I also give my word to someone who pays me more" and as a society we have come to accept this as the new way. Were churning out new laws all the time to compensate for the effects of this bad judgement and in turn are tearing our constitution into little peices. We're going down a road from which there is no return. Each person every day, must ask themselves if it is right to do something each time they do it. When you spend a dollar, you must ask yourself "do I believe in the company I am buying from, do they treat their employees and partners ethically? DO they support the basic constitutional fundamentals of this country?"
You, the guy in the mirror are individually responsible for every law that is written eroding our rights, you are personally responsible for the frivilous lawsuits, you are personally responsible for the destruction of america from within..................unless you are working to fix it. There is no middle ground.
I have sent 4 letters to my state senators this morning, and that is VERY important. But what is more important, is minding my business..... making sure that every handshake I make is a binding agreement, unbroken by finanical gains. Making sure that the basic fundamentals of america are being upheld in my own home, and making sure that the guy I see in the mirror is someone I respect. If each person chose to do this many of the problems of this nation would dissolve in time. This has nothing to do with religion, I don't follow religions. My life is my religion. This planet is my church.
You see, I am PERSONALLY responsible and I respect myself for that, I know I am.............and my handshake means something.
and if I didn't motivate you in some way......we really are f#cked!
