Women are being laid off so hire more women? Huh?
In this otherwise silly article, there is one useful point buried.

The reason that the percentage of women in IT in the US is dropping is because the number of lower-paid, lower status jobs is falling. Executives are overwhelmingly white and male. Therefore, the percentage of white males in IT in the US is increasing.

However, if you consider IT to be a global industry, then the percentage of non-whites in IT is soaring.

Statistics don?t lie: they only deceive. Ask any unemployed ex-IT worker in the US or EC regardless of colour or gender.
