You couldn't be further off base. Vegas Video 4 is not a pro
app. It's a "prosumer" app. Just like Apple's Final Cut
Express which runs $300. Adobe Premiere Pro is, despite
the name, also not a pro app. It's feature set is closer to
FCP Express and it's actually not as good. Don't try to tell
me different, I own them both and there's no comparison.
The thousands he's talking about come into play when you
compare FCP ($999) to it's only real competition when it
comes to features, which is Avid, and depending on which
flavor you choose can run over $50,000.

As for the other iApps, there's nothing as good or easy as
iMovie or iPhoto on the PC side, and with GarageBand, I just
paid $150 to upgrade Digital Performer (I believe it costs
around $700 new) and it looks like GarageBand does most
of the same things at effectively $10. Don't try to pull that
"Apple is ripping you off" crap here. Anyone with even a
little sense knows it's baloney. The iApps are a great deal at
any price.
