The sign of a healthy marketplace ...
The future will only see more talent moving back and forth between vendors. What is missed by some is the fact that the flow goes in both directions. For example, Joseph Cheek, an ex-Microsoft employee, recently hired on with Mandriva and will be in charge of moving desktop Linux forward. It is only natural that talent flows between vendors and that on some occasions, small business owners, like Robbins and Cheek, decide its time to look for employment with larger employers. At the same time, employees of large companies, now and again, depart to create their own startups. This is a hallmark of capitalism and the antithesis of the managed economy. My best wishes to both Robbins and Cheek and to their respective employers. May the consumer continue to profit from the benefits of our free marketplace and economy.
