Almost irrelevant
Without support for .NET, Java is a legascy language with next to no future. The Java community made a huge mistake persecuting Microsoft for modifying Java. They should have taken Microsoft's modifications and embraced them because then, AND ONLY then, would Java have support for the .NET Framework (aka "The Framework"). Without support for "The Framework", Java is a dying language.
