Not at all...
First off, Solaris is graced with the GPL license and there are parts of it that are strictly hands off. Second, just as Red Hat and Apple do, it's quite easy to build proprietary code on top of *nix.

Hey, BSD is Uinx so why hasn't anyone ported OS X to Linux???
