He is afraid of Linux
He is afraid that he will lose his job if everybody switches to Linux. He is a typical M$ drone who does not know much about Linux and will be replaced by a professional who knows how to work with it. So, it is in his best interest to lie and try keep his boss from switching to Linux and therefore firing him because he is useless.
